I started this topic because I know several people (including myseelf) have been having trouble with the campaign. So here, anybody can come and ask questions about any level of the campaign, and anybody can come to give answers to asked questions! I'll obviously help however I can, but I'm only halfway through with the game, so... yeah. ^^;

So here's my current problem: I can't beat mission 8, which is the level where you get to kill Velika.

I've managed to take out one of the brothers (the northern one; I think his name is Humphrey), but now I'm being spammed so hard by Velika and Bugsy that I can barely get enough creatures to defend my own base from Velika's wretched Komodo Dragon-Rhinos and Hornet-Rhinos. >:C And they apparently have no trouble taking down what few Soundbeam Towers and Anti-Air Towers I get the chance to put up.

Of course, updating my current army would probably help. ^^; I really need to spend more time in the army creator. Of course, I've probably answered my own question with that, but I do feel that in order to be really successful, I might as well go ahead and restart the level. Oh well.

Creatures I've Been Using a Lot In This Level-
Wolverine-Chameleons (Wolverine with Chameleon head and tail)
Hyena-Dragonfly (Hyena with Dragonfly front legs, tail, and I can't remember which head they have. I think it's Hyena)
Polar Bear-Lobster (Polar Bear with Lobster head, tail, and claws)
I know there was another creature, but I can't remember what it was ^^; I feel like it was part Musk Ox.

I'm open to any suggestions, whether they are about armies or battle tactics.

Yes, that is a Mountain Lupine in my avatar. :3

I did a strategy for this earrlier this year, here is a nice link for you

http://ich.18.forumer.com/index.php?showtopic=1042

Ive found that the easiets way to beat the comp in these mission is to build cheap semi tough units that you can just spam like crazy instead of a fewer strong units.

as for defending your base, ive never need more than 4 AA and 6 SB towers for defense.

you could go Hippo/chamelons BUT.. i say that crocodile/chameleons (just cham head) makes for a much much better alternative.

Oh and at least once I mad a HUGE army (like 50ish or so) of lobster dragonflies. they have no HP to speak of but DAMn do they deal dmage to buildings fast. a couple waves of those and velikas base si GONE!

Before I even think about attacking I wall off the North, East, and West entrances to the base with Bramble fences and 12 SB towers each. This is in addition to the 2 AA towers at the North and East built in the first part to assassinate the scouts.

This strategy requires a LOT of coal, so only go to level 3 and build some chameleon/polar bears (cham head and tail). About 8-12 will give you enough guards to colonize the coal between you and the dark blue base with the henchmen from the initial pile. Level up from there and colonize in the center. Any coal you take in the middle, EXEPT for the one on the ledge just North of your base will be unmolested as long as the henchmen dont get spotted.

Chamopotomi and Rhinobsters are what I use to take out the three bases. I also increase the number of SB towers at the north and east entrances to the main base to 16-20 and the AA towers to 4-6. With upgraded towers and fences, and some help from Rex's gun, you can repel any invasion while you build up your attacking force in the water south of your base.

DON'T labrush Velika, crush her entire base. I learned that one the hard way.

Of course you should fight fire with fire, you should fight everything with fire.

Well, I've tried walling off the north once I'm done with Humphrey, but nothing else. I'll try walling off the other places as well.

And yeah, I generally don't try lab rushes unless I'm completely out of options. Although it is my usual strategy for the final level with Whitey. XD

If this current level is giving me so much trouble, I'm starting to get scared about the remaining levels. O.o Julius especially frightens me...

A WILD QUITE APPEARED!

LESTER USED SNIP AGAIN!

ITS NOT AS EFFECTIVE!

It's a praying mantis/dragonfly. Mantis pincers and torso.
It's supposed to be a spammable glass cannon with frenzy, very useful for labrushing.

Ah. I figured it was part praying mantis. Thanks.

No problem. If you're up for IC, catch me on Hamachi.

I'm available now! Hopefully you're still on? :3

Well, I'm on pretty much all of the time, just say something on Hamachi to get my attention.

Ok, well, I'm almost finished with a game against the computer. Give me a minute and I'll message you.
